Q : Peux-tu nous parler un peu de toi ?
R : Je m'appelle Emmanuel Joseph Jacob, mais je préfère Emmanuel Joja. J'ai 25 ans et je viens de Tanzanie continentale, plus précisément du district de Kahama dans la région de Shinyanga.
Q : Comment t’es tu intéressé au kitesurf ?
R : En 2019, je suis parti de chez moi pour travailler et je me suis retrouvé à Zanzibar, plus précisément sur la plage de Paje. J'ai commencé à travailler au restaurant Delight en tant que serveur pendant deux mois. En raison de la basse saison touristique, je ne pouvais plus travailler là- bas. Je cherchais activement une nouvelle activité et j'ai finalement atterri à l'école locale de kitesurf Mwananchi en 2021. Ça a été une révélation !
Q : Comment es tu devenu instructeur de kitesurf ?
R : À l'école de Mwananchi, j'ai commencé en tant qu’assistant d’instructeur. Il a fallu un an de dévouement et de travail avant que je ne devienne instructeur de kitesurf. Malgré les difficultés, ma détermination n'a jamais vacillé ! J'ai officiellement commencé à enseigner le kitesurf en juin 2022.
Q : Quels aspects de l'enseignement apprécies-tu ?
R : Pouvoir partager mon amour pour ce sport avec d'autres est incroyablement enrichissant. Ce que j'apprécie le plus en tant qu'instructeur, c'est de voir les élèves progresser et prendre du plaisir !
Q : Que représente pour toi le kite ?
R : Le kitesurf a vraiment conquis mon cœur. Je trouve une immense joie dans le sport lui-même. Ma passion pour le kitesurf me pousse à continuellement me fixer de nouveaux objectifs. J’aspire chaque jour à accomplir davantage. J'espère réaliser mes rêves et ambitions au sein de la communauté du kitesurf.
Q : Pourquoi la certification IKO est-elle importante pour toi ?
R : La certification IKO revêt une grande importance pour moi. Elle constitue une reconnaissance mondiale de mon expertise en tant qu'instructeur de kitesurf. Cette certification m'aiderai à établir ma réputation au sein de la communauté mondiale du kitesurf, me permettant d’exercer partout dans le monde.
Q : Quel est ton rêve ultime dans le monde du kitesurf ?
R : Au-delà d'être un instructeur, j'aspire à devenir une figure légendaire du kitesurf, à l'instar d'autres personnalités dans le monde du sport. Je crois en la puissance des liens entre les individus, et j'ai une grande foi en Dieu et en Jésus-Christ, qui me guident vers le succès et l'épanouissement.

Interview with Emmanuel Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
A: My name is Emmanuel Joseph Jacob, but I prefer Emmanuel Joja. I'm 25 years old, and I come from mainland Tanzania, specifically from the Kahama district in the Shinyanga region.
Q: How did you become interested in kitesurfing?
A: In 2019, I left home to work and ended up in Zanzibar, specifically on Paje Beach. I started working at Delight restaurant as a waiter for two months. Due to the low tourist season, I couldn't work there anymore. I was actively looking for a new activity, and I eventually ended up at the local Mwananchi kitesurfing school in 2021. It was a revelation!
Q: How did you become a kitesurfing instructor?
A: At Mwananchi school, I started as an assistant instructor. It took a year of dedication and hard work before I became a kitesurfing instructor. Despite the challenges, my determination never wavered! I officially started teaching kitesurfing in June 2022.
Q: What aspects of teaching do you enjoy?
A: Being able to share my love for this sport with others is incredibly rewarding. What I appreciate most as an instructor is seeing students progress and have fun!
Q: What does kitesurfing represent for you?
A: Kitesurfing has truly captured my heart. I find immense joy in the sport itself. My passion for kitesurfing drives me to continually set new goals. I aspire every day to achieve more. I hope to fulfill my dreams and ambitions within the kitesurfing community.
Q: Why is the IKO certification important to you?
A: The IKO certification is of great importance to me. It is a global recognition of my expertise as a kitesurfing instructor. This certification will help me establish my reputation within the global kitesurfing community, allowing me to teach all over the world.
Q: What is your ultimate dream in the world of kitesurfing?
A: Beyond being an instructor, I aspire to become a legendary figure in the world of kitesurfing, like other personalities in the sports world. I believe in the power of connections between individuals, and I have great faith in God and Jesus Christ, who guide me towards success and fulfillment.
